About Homecalcly
Free, honest calculators for home projects.
Homecalcly started with a simple frustration: most material calculators online either hide the math, ask for an email address, or bury the result under a wall of ads. We wanted the opposite. Clear inputs, a straight answer, and the working shown right next to it.
What we build
Free calculators for the home projects people take on most: painting, tile, flooring, drywall, wallpaper, trim, concrete, gravel, fencing, decks and roofing. Each one is paired with a plain-English explanation of how it works, a worked example you can check by hand, and the practical tips that usually only come up after something's gone wrong.
How we write the numbers
The math in each tool is basic geometry. The judgment calls, like how much waste to add or how many square feet a gallon of paint really covers, come from common trade rules of thumb and manufacturers' published guidance. Where a number is an estimate, we say so on the page.
We review each calculator and its guide when product standards or common practice change, and the date on every page shows when it was last checked.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to sign up for anything.
- We don't send your measurements anywhere. Every calculation runs in your browser.
- We don't give structural, engineering or code advice. For anything that holds weight or needs a permit, check with your local building department or a licensed pro.
